Oshawa, Canada Browning-Winchester Classic |
Shoot started off on the cool side, but the sun came out and it turned out to be a very pleasant day with the wind seeming to be only kicking up around the club house. The shoot consisted of nineteen stations and 150 targets. Lite mod seemed to be the choke of the day. Presentations were varied and for the most part challenging. A well designed course! Everyone was friendly, the lady at the sign-in desk very helpful, and the kitchen staff served a first rate lunch. As a side note, we crossed the border at Cornwall and were required to stop and show are Canadian Firearm Registration papers. The lady customs official was professional and friendly, and inspected one firearm for serial number verification. I would think we processed through the border in under ten minutes. Crossing back into the states on Sunday was without problem. Complete instructions on border crossing with a firearm can be found on the Lost Target web site. On Saturday evening we visited the casino located north of the club (14 minute drive time). The casino offers excellent food, 450 slots, and a good number of gaming tables. Well worth the visit if you have time to kill, but I highly recommend you try to arrive not to much after 6pm, as it gets very crowded.
